Acrobatics gives the dancers a chance to perfect flexibility based tricks that can be incorporated into dance routines. These tricks take years of practice and this class allows our dancers to work on everything from cartwheels, balances, partner tricks and flips of all kinds.
This class is recommended for 18 months - 2 year olds. It is a creative movement based class while being introduced to the exciting world of dance. Children learn to follow the gentle physical lead of their teacher and parent, and to funnel their desire to dance into actual skill. They will learn how to engage in a group activity and begin to refine coordination and cognitive reasoning abilities. Parent participation is required.
This class is recommended for children ages 3-4. Theme based classes are perfect for these little dancers. Join us for a class that allows young dancers to begin building a strong foundation to foster their love for dance.
This class is recommended for ages 5-6. It is an introduction to concepts designed to train young dancers with an emphasis on coordination, rhythm, timing, and self-expression. They will learn how to wait their turn patiently, respectfully and quietly and to take turns graciously.
This class is recommended for ages 7-9. During the jazz portion of class dancers will learn progressions, turns, leaps and center work. The lyrical portion will combine the movement quality of jazz with the technical component of Ballet.
Technique class will work on different levels of technique in ballet, jazz, body placement, proper stretching techniques, and more. Due to the higher concentration levels needed for this class, it is recommended for dancers ages 9+.
This class is to get the body moving and the mind working! The instructor will give a different style of choreography each class. Styles will include lyrical, contemporary, jazz, hip hop and musical theater. This is an excellent class for learning how to pick up choreography quickly! This class will be fast paced, it is recommended for experienced dancers ages 9+
These classes are for students who are looking for a higher level of instruction, more hours of class, and extra performance opportunities. A higher level of commitment and participation is expected in these classes. Students between the ages of 4-18 that are interested in being considered for a competition team are required to commit to at least 4 weeks of summer classes. Participation in summer classes does not guarantee placement on a competition team.
